I first got involved with bull terriers in 1978 when I purchased a bitch
puppy from bill Morgan (Meardy) there have been few times since then
that a bull terrier was not somewhere in my life, the first interest I
had in miniatures was 2004 after going to WELKS I was somewhat
impressed with some of the dogs I saw that day and decided to do some
research on breeders , it took two years to finally get my first
miniature from a Mrs. G Nicholls who had just had her first litter I
believe, and from that day I have been smitten ,
Now
the pup I bought was Black Mountains Bow, was that my lucky day or what,
to pick a future champion , and future Crufts Best Of Breed ,out of the
seven pups that were left!
Now
I don't really like showing dogs ,and bow was bought as a pet. but
sometimes you come across a nice one and it is nice to show them off ,
all that said I was glad after getting her crown I could get away from
showing , (I really don't like how crooked dog showing is )
But
I again made the mistake of watching another breed I have admired in the
past
Lakeland terriers , so again I watched them at shows for about a year ,
and was introduced to
John
Averis from the famous Saredon kennel , after a long chat they let me
have a bitch puppy (Saredon Midnight In Blue)
Now
this bitch had a real quality about her , she went over to the USA for a
year to learn the finer points of being a show dog , (because if
you see my handling skills) you would understand what she was up against
, she made champion there .,handled and living with Tracy Zsaras (Delzar)
kennels ,she then returned here in August 2011
So
she will be out at shows this year 2012 to strut her stuff, handled and
prepared by Warren Bradley
I would like to thank Saredon kennels for trusting me with their
breeding
I would also like to thank Vanessa Hearne (Warbonnet) for giving a
newbee a helping hand and showing Black Mountains Bow to her crown at
Crufts. Thanks Minto
